FJK Grow Your Own ("we", "us", "the site") is a UK grow-your-own gardening reference. This policy explains what information we collect from visitors, why, and what rights you have over it.
FJK Grow Your Own is an independently run gardening website. For any question about this policy or your data, see our Contact page.
Email address (newsletter): if you sign up for our seasonal tips newsletter, we collect the email address you provide, for the sole purpose of sending you that newsletter. We do not sell, rent, or share this address with third parties for marketing purposes.
Checklist progress (local device only): if you use the Winter Close-Down checklist, your ticked items are saved using your browser's local storage so they're remembered on your next visit. This information stays on your own device — it is never sent to us or to anyone else.
What we do not collect: we do not use analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies of any kind at the time of writing. We do not require accounts, logins, or payment details to use the site.
This site loads typefaces from Google Fonts. Loading a font makes a request to Google's servers, which may log your IP address as part of normal web server operation, subject to Google's own privacy policy. We do not control this data or receive it ourselves.
If we hold your email address because you subscribed to our newsletter, you have the right to:
To exercise any of these rights, get in touch via our Contact page.
We keep your email address only for as long as you remain subscribed to the newsletter. If you unsubscribe, it is removed from our active mailing list.
This site is intended for a general gardening audience and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
If how we handle data changes — for example, if we introduce analytics or a new feature that collects information — we will update this page and revise the date at the top.
Questions about this policy or your data can be sent via our Contact page.
